My Cross of Salvation

The cross is still still standing over the hill dear Lord, but it is now empty. They took Your body away after a loving follower of Yours, Joseph of Arimathea, asked Pontius Pilate that he will take care of
Your burial after You expired, You breathed You last on it. The heavy Cross which You carried for our many sins. You had patiently bear that cross for us and carry it to Calvary. You fell three times because of exhaustion, yet You did not complain. No one dared to help You, not even me, for I was afraid of the Roman soldiers,  I was afraid to be mocked and laughed at. I don't have the courage Lord to lend a hand. So like Peter I just have to watch You from afar and weep. I denied You too Lord. , No one lend a hand except for that man Simon the Cyrenean, whom the Roman soldiers force to take the cross for You when they notice You can not continue anymore. How I wished I could be him. But no, I was away from You, watching You suffer. Wala akong lakas ng loob para tulongan ka.

Lord, I am now staring at this empty Cross, upon which Your hands and feet were nailed.  You endured so much for me Lord. Why? Because You love me so much. The Cross is the symbol of that great love You have for me. An unconditional love, that hanging on that cross You still uttered, 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing'.. I know Your mission is accomplished. For in Your mouth You said it so, 'It is finished'.   You've done the will of Your Father.

Lord I want to keep that Cross. I'll cherish it as my own. I will cling to it and carry it now for You, until the day I die. Lord I wish to help, I want to help You. Please give the strength now to lend a hand in Your continuing mission of redemption.
